Payments & Refunds FAQ
All payments and refunds are managed by the storefront where you purchased the game.
-
Payment methods
Payment methods often depend on your country. Visit Steam Support or Epic Games Support or to search their help articles or contact them.
-
Why was my payment declined / purchase failure message
Both Epic and Steam have support options if your payment isn’t going through. Steam has a workflow for resolving payment issues. For Epic, you can start with this support article or use their Epic Support Assistant for further help.
-
Can I gift the game to someone else?
Yes! You can gift a new game to someone you are friends with on Steam or Epic.
For Steam: add the game to your cart and during checkout select the option “Purchase as a gift”. Steam will block you from sending gifts to friends that already own the game. Gifts may be region-locked, so ensure the recipient is in a supported region.
For Epic: add the game to your cart and during checkout select the option “Buy as a Gift”. You will need to use the recipient’s Epic display name, and the recipient must be in the same region. If the recipient already owns the game, the gift is automatically refunded.
-
Can I refund the game after playing it?
Steam and Epic refunds games within two weeks of purchase and with less than two hours of playtime. Review the Steam Refund documentation or Epic Game Store Refund Policy to learn more.
-
Can banned accounts still get refunds?
No. On Steam and Epic, you lose the right to refund a game if you are banned by the storefront or the developer.
